I understand how hard it is to heal from an emotionally dark, numb, or hopeless place - because I have been there too.

Meet Donnah Vance, LPC

Hi there! I’m Donnah Vance. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified with NCC (the board certification for counselors). I received my BA from Marshall University and my MA from Colorado Christian University. I’ve been trained in EFT, EMDR, and DBT.

I understand how hard it is to heal from an emotionally dark, numb, or even hopeless place because I have been there t0o. When I went through my divorce, taking care of basic needs was challenging, and some days were overwhelming. For this reason, I primarily serve couples whose marriages are struggling but still want to make it work.

As an EFT, Emotion Focused Therapy, therapist, I help couples develop skills and strategies to make meaningful changes in their marriages.

Also, because traumatic events are quite common, I serve those who have been traumatized by utilizing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). As an EMDR therapist, I help individuals heal from PTSD and traumas that have hindered them from functioning with daily life responsibilities.

As a DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) therapist, I help individuals learn skills to manage and regulate their emotions. DBT can help individuals change behavioral, emotional, thinking, and interpersonal patterns associated with life’s problems.

As human beings, our lives are deeply intertwined in our relationships with others which can either be good or bad. Sometimes these relationships can cause us much pain. Life can be summed up in relationships. Therefore, life can be hard and it helps to have someone walk alongside us who can relate to our pain.

In my free time, I enjoy playing with my Doberman, Beaumont.
